Prepare
Open Rainy Window Café from the gallery in a desktop browser. Its default scene has a still background image and no rain audio.

- In the windowed preview, watch the clock and caption. Distinguish the caption animation from the background image; the photograph is not a video.
- Click the fullscreen button and watch for about a minute. Check that the clock updates and the caption remains readable over bright parts of the image.
- Press Esc to leave fullscreen. This is a browser session, not the same as an automatic Windows screensaver that runs independently of an open browser.
Check the result
Entering and leaving fullscreen and seeing the clock update verifies basic playback. A one-minute check does not validate long sessions or performance on every device.
If the result differs
If fullscreen is refused, read the message and try the fullscreen button on the page again. Silence is expected for this scene; add a separate audio track in Studio if you want sound.
How does it work inside a browser?
When you open a screensaver and choose the fullscreen action, the browser Fullscreen API expands the current page. Its clock and motion continue to render in real time while the page remains open.
ScreenWisp also requests Screen Wake Lock during fullscreen playback in a supported browser. Operating-system power policy, battery saver, and managed-device restrictions can still override that request.
How is it different from an installed screensaver?
- It runs without an installer or administrator permission.
- Browser security requires a user click before entering fullscreen.
- For playback after inactivity, the download page offers a separate Windows portable app. It must remain running in the tray; it does not register a Windows .scr screensaver or provide a security lock.
- Closing the tab or restarting the computer means you must open the page again.
Where does an online screensaver fit best?
It works well on a desk or secondary monitor, as a focus clock, or as an ambient display that you intentionally start and stop. Always-on meeting rooms and retail displays need additional planning for OS power policy, browser recovery, and device management.
