ScreenWisp for Windows

Requirements

• We recommend an up-to-date Windows 11 x64 PC. This is not a macOS, Linux or mobile app.
• Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime is required. The .NET runtime is included in the ZIP; no separate .NET installation is needed.
• The extracted app uses about 176 MiB. Allow additional space for projects, media and playback caches.
• UI languages: 한국어, English, 日本語, Español, Deutsch, Français, Português (Brasil), Bahasa Indonesia, 简体中文 and 繁體中文.

Getting started

1. Extract the entire ZIP to a folder and run ScreenWisp.exe. Keep the accompanying app folder in place.
2. Select your ScreenWisp project library folder saved by web Studio, or import an exported .ambientpack file. Projects in browser storage are not read automatically.
3. Select a screen and check its preview. Refresh the list after changing folder contents.
4. Enable automatic playback, choose a wait of 1–120 minutes and save. It is initially disabled, with a default wait of 5 minutes.
5. Keep the app running in the system tray. Keyboard or mouse input ends fullscreen playback. Starting at sign-in is optional and must be enabled in settings.

Power and sound

The default Keep awake mode requests that the display and PC stay awake during playback. Audio follows the project settings unless you select mute. This can increase power use.

Follow Windows power settings makes no keep-awake request and is always silent. Automatic playback may not start if Windows turns off the display or sleeps first.

Rendering pauses on lock, display-off or sleep. The app does not change your power plan or Windows lock settings.

In either power mode, playback will not start if Windows turns off the display or sleeps before the idle wait expires.

Projects and privacy

Connected and imported projects are processed on your PC. Personal media is not uploaded to ScreenWisp servers or automatically synchronized with browser storage.

Idle detection uses the last input timestamp, not the content of your keystrokes or mouse input.

Settings, WebView2 data, playback caches and diagnostic logs remain in %LOCALAPPDATA%\JeuFirst Software\ScreenWisp. Imported projects go to the default library or your chosen folder.

Open My Screensavers opens the website in your default browser, where website advertising and cookie policies apply. The player has no ads. Microsoft components such as WebView2 may communicate separately for updates.

Capabilities and limits

This app does not register or replace a Windows .scr screensaver. It must remain running in the tray for automatic playback. Fully quitting stops it.

This is not a security lock. Use Windows locking to protect your PC when away.

Fullscreen playback currently uses one primary monitor. Suppression during games or presentations relies on Windows status and cannot detect every app; pause manually when needed.

Create and edit in web Studio. The app connects, selects, previews and plays projects. Media codecs and PC performance can affect playback.

Removing a folder project in the app moves the actual linked project folder to the Recycle Bin. Take care when using a shared library.

Updating

Fully quit the old app from the tray. Extract the new ZIP into a new folder and run it; existing settings and your project library are reused.

If sign-in startup was enabled, register the new location in the new app settings. Program updates are not downloaded and installed automatically.

Removing the app

Disable sign-in startup in settings, fully quit from the tray, then delete the extracted program folder. There is no separate uninstaller.

Settings, caches and projects are not deleted with the program folder. The default Library is also under %LOCALAPPDATA%\JeuFirst Software\ScreenWisp; back up projects before deleting that data. Keep any separately selected project folder.

Changes in this version

Updated the bundled .NET runtime to security patch 10.0.11, retaining the playback features and settings of 0.3.10.
